The secret is in the perfect seal and exact fit of the bleaching trays, which keep the Deep Bleaching gel compressed up against your teeth to work for hours at at time, going deeper and deeper, safely and gently whitening your teeth while you sleep. The custom-fit trays are made at an authorized dental laboratory.
The bleaching trays are perfectly fitted to your mouth, with such accuracy that you can't even feel them when you are wearing them. They form a tight seal against your gumline that prevents any bleaching gel from leaking into your mouth, so there is no bad taste or discomfort from the gel. Unlike conventional or commercially available trays, the seal also prevents saliva from entering the tray and diluting the bleaching gel. How the KoR Deep Bleaching Treatment Works
1. Initial Examination: Before you begin your treatment, Dr. Malone does a thorough examination of your teeth and mouth, to ensure that there are no problems that should be treated before you begin your Deep Bleaching procedure, and to answer any questions you might have.
2. Fitting for your custom trays: Next, very detailed and precise impressions for your custom-fit trays, using a specially formulated impression material and technique. A perfect fit is critical, because the gel must be sealed against your teeth so it can be absorbed into your teeth. As well, the seal forms a barrier against the fluids in your mouth, which can deactivate the gel.
3. First treatment - conditioning: When the custom trays come back from the dental lab, the first in-office treatment is done. This is a simple, comfortable in-office treatment that applies an accelerated bleaching gel to start the conditioning process on your teeth. The bleach is applied in your own trays, which allows us to confirm that they fit and are working perfectly. The specialized bleach is applied twice, along with a desensitizing solution that also acts as a whitening conditioner.
4. At home whitening: After that, you wear your Deep Bleaching trays every night for 10 to 14 days. Before you leave the office, you'll be shown how to use them properly with the bleaching gel.
5. Final visit and accelerated treatment: Next is your final in-office visit now that your teeth are fully conditioned to easily absorb oxygen from the bleaching gel. During this visit, a high-concentration hydrogen peroxide gel is placed on your teeth for about an hour.
Because of the whiteness already achieved, plus the "conditioned" ability for oxygen from the high-concentration hydrogen peroxide to fully enter the crystalline structure of the tooth, the final results are truly remarkable. An additional acceleration of whiteness will occur during this visit, resulting in a beautiful white smile.
